Déjà Vu is the all-nude strip club at 3247 Industrial Road (702/894-4167), which Arnold Snyder in our upcoming guide to Las Vegas erotic entertainment, calls "one of the premier nude clubs in Las Vegas," with "the most outrageous show in Vegas today": nude oil wrestling. The Erotic Heritage Museum is right next door.
Here's how Snyder describes the sex display:
"Las Vegas is known for its weird museums. The Elvis Museum, unfortunately, is gone, as is Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Movie Museum and that great casino gambling museum that used to be at the Tropicana. But we’re still the only town with an Atomic Testing Museum and a Liberace Museum, and now we have a kinky sex museum to boot.
"The Erotic Heritage Museum is right next door to Deja Vu. This place opened in August 2008 and displays the erotic art collection of Harry Mohney, who founded the Déjà Vu chain, and Ted McIlvenna, an international collector of erotica. This is a serious museum and if you have any interest in erotic art or its history, you should visit this place.
"According to the director of the museum, between them, Mohney and McIlvenna have 30 warehouses filled with erotica, so the exhibits change regularly. The current display includes everything from fine-art drawings, paintings, photographs, and sculpture to pin-up art, old movie posters, books, periodicals, sex toys, costumes, fetish equipment, and even life-size mannequins wearing or using some of the outfits and devices. There’s also a wall of newspaper clippings that report on famous obscenity busts and trials.
"The museum occupies 24,000 square feet, with a peepshow booth and a large gift shop.
The general-admission charge is $20, or $15 for seniors, students, and Las Vegas residents. You can become a member for an annual fee ($100, or $50 for students or seniors), which allows you free admission any time. No one under 18 is admitted, but seniors get a $3 discount off of admission. (Right now, you can also purchase a ticket for the museum for only $5 at Déjà Vu or its sister nude club, Little Darlings.)"
