The simple quick reply to this question, submittted in response to the 12/15/08 QoD (concerning the future of online gambling), is this: We go on and on because we're writers and sometimes we're inspired by good questions to delve deeply into the answers.
Now, for anyone who has a slightly longer attention span, we also received this response to the same question: "Greetings, just wanted to compliment Deke on his answer to 12/15/08's QOD. Discerning, Broad Ranging & Informative! Who would've thought a gaming site would be so erudite?"
These two bits of contradictory feedback put us, admittedly, into something of a quandary. Do we indulge our writerly proclivities and answer questions to our own -- and some readers' -- satisfaction, even if it takes a few pages? Or do we keep our answers simple and quick, catering to other readers who prefer high-concept sound bites over in-depth essays?
Or do we mix it up, answering each question with a complete response, whether that requires one word or a thousand?
What do you think, QoDers? Weigh in and we'll not only post the results, we'll take them to heart.
