Question of the Day - 24 August 2009

Q:
So what is the REAL admission policy for Rehab at the Hard Rock hotel now? I notice that they now have guest performers and are charging $150.00 for tickets. Do hotel guests still get in for free, or do they now have to pay the full price when there are performers?
A:

Interesting question and we're glad you asked, because it turns out it's changed since we last checked.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Rehab, it's the most notorious pool party in Las Vegas. It started out a few years ago with the intention of being a "chillout" event on Sunday afternoon for people to recover from the previous night's excesses, but instead Rehab took off on an excessive tangent all of its own and now attracts patrons from far and wide (including copious quantities of celebrities) who often take it easy on Saturday night in order to be ready to party at the pool on Sunday.

The Rehab brand has grown so strong that it's in its second season of a reality show that airs on truTV. You can check out the celebrity photo gallery and find more infomation in our Cool Pools section (click the Rehab link above).

Last year admission was $20 for ladies (locals free, plus it's long been unofficial policy that any other especially attractive female may find the cover waived) and $40 for men. This year it's still $20 for ladies but at some point they hiked up the cover to $50 for men. Plus, admission charges increase during the day, with the cost of entry ultimately rising to $50 for females and up to $150 (wow!) for males.

Season passes are still available from the gift shop for $1,000. In past years, by this late in the season the price has normally been dropped to $500, but right now they're still charging full whack. Hotel guests do still receive two wristbands for Rehab and they're good for complimentary admission even if there’s a headliner playing and an additional cover charge, as has happened from time to time this summer.

Rehab's open from 11 a.m. (10:30 a.m. for cabana guests) until sunset every Sunday during pool season. This year the last event's on September 27 and no word yet on who the headliner -- if there is one -- will be.
