Question of the Day - 04 October 2009

Q:
The other night, I stumbled onto a movie called Crazy Girls Undercover on one of the Starz channels. It seemed like the plot was some kind of showgirl spies kinda thing, and perhaps was one of those "so bad it might be good" events. Do you know any more about it? Plus, this got me to wondering if you could share your thoughts on some of the best bad Las Vegas movies? I'm assuming that Showgirls is Number One...
A:

It appears those Crazy Girls at the Riviera are quietly planning world domination.

First, in 2008, came Crazy Girls Undercover -- click the link for a preview. An action flick that looks fantastically cheesy, the official tag line reads, "In a dangerous world, sexy just isn't enough. You need to be a Crazy Girl!" Of course. Or, as a reader commented on the imdb.com website, "James Bond meets Charlie's Angels, with boobage." Sweet!

We haven't had the pleasure of seeing it yet, but it looks like the plot consists of the standard package of undercover part-time superhero who's called upon to save the world periodically, in-between which he runs his nude revue at the Riv, staffed by his loyal ladies who happen to be adept at computer hacking and sharp-shooting when called to his aid. It's available to purchase for $19.95 from the crazygirlslv.com site (note, this site is NSFW, although the movie-clip above is safe).

In addition to the movie, which appears to have been made for TV, their Crazy on the Pole instructional pole-dance DVD (also $19.95) and the website, where you can become a paid member and chat to the girls nightly, not to mention watch them dress/undress for the show, a new Crazy Girls enterprise was announced earlier this year.

Back in July, we learned that a string of cafés based on the long-running Las Vegas burlesque show would be launched, with the first location slated for an August opening on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Other Crazy Girls Cafés were scheduled to open in Baton Rouge; Evansville, Ind.; and Atlantic City, N.J. before the end of 2009, but we can find no trace of any of them having opened as yet. If anyone has an update, please let us know.

As to the second part of your question, you've inspired us to pose this to our loyal readers in the form of a poll, so stay tuned for an upcoming questionnaire while we put our thinking caps on...
