Question of the Day - 04 December 2009

Q:
I am thinking of accepting an invitation for New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas. I understand that many shows go on hiatus around the holidays. Is there a place where I can find out which shows will be off of their normal schedules around NYE? I am especially interested in the kind of shows that Arnold Snyder reviews in his book, which I have found to be invaluable, even though I do not agree 100% with his evaluations. Even though I have been visiting Las Vegas for decades, this would be my first NYE in LV, and I would hate for poor planning on my part to interfere with maintaining a high SPW during my visit.
A:

We'd also hate for your SPW* to suffer and are happy to oblige. We've even bolded the topless revues, especially for you! (*If you don't know what SPW stands for, you'll have to check out Snyder's Topless Vegas guide, now out in v.3.0.)

You're correct that many productions do take time out (are "dark") during the holidays, while some also add additional dates. Note that increased "holiday prices" sometimes apply, so check with the box office if you don't want to pay extra and are flexible with your dates. Here's the complete list of all Las Vegas Production Shows, with their contact numbers.

And here -- to the best of our knowledge -- is the lowdown on schedules through the holidays for those shows that are switching from the norm:
