Question of the Day - 01 January 2010

Q:
Happy New Year!
A:

Since we're a bit hung over from last night's festivities and we're assuming, rightly or wrongly, that a majority of you are too, today we'll just wish you a Happy New Year.

But also allow us to say we hope that between the recent past and the near future, your resolutions won't go in one year and out the other.

And while we're on the subject, to paraphrase the always-pithy Irish playwright and poet Oscar Wilde, New Year's resolutions are a compensation for what we're not, while a sense of humor is a consolation for what we are.

See you tomorrow.
