Founded in 1907, Anderson Dairy has been supplying the Las Vegas Valley with its cow (and chicken) by-product needs for over a century. They've been offering the free "Barnyard Buddies" tour for some years now, but we didn't include it in the previous QoD you reference, since this tour's essentially aimed at children (primarily those aged two through fifth grade), although adults are welcome to attend.
The tours generally take place Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 10 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 1 p.m., and sometimes also at 2 p.m. if it's a particularly busy day. It starts in a room full of talking animatronic animals and then takes you through the back-of-house to see milk being packaged and ice cream being made. The whole tour takes about one hour and you get a sample of free ice cream at the end of it. If you're interested in taking part, call 702/642-7507, extension 264. The dairy's located at 801 Searles Ave. in North Las Vegas (off Las Vegas Blvd., north of Washington Ave.), so you'll need to take a taxi or a bus there if you don't have your own tranport. You can buy Anderson products in the stores around town.
The only other behind-the-scenes tour we're aware of is the one at Bally's, where you can get a backstage tour of Jubilee! from a showgirl or one of the male performers. It's $15 per person; Click here for more information.
