Question of the Day - 17 March 2010

Q:
Can you tell me how to get current lines for games during the March Madness tournament?
A:

There are a few companies that offer line services. They cater to serious sports bettors, so have lots of bells & whistles and are expensive. However, these companies also have free versions of their feeds that give you all you need as a casual bettor (or just an interested party) to stay on top of things. In fact, we work with one of them (SportsOptions) to provide the feeds at LVASports.com.

Click through the link above and scroll down past the current "Featured Thread" until you see a box in the middle of the LVASports home page, labeled "Today's Games and Odds." Click on the desired link -- off shore or Las Vegas lines -- and follow the prompts to get the current numbers for all the upcoming games.

This board is amazing, as it provides near real-time odds updates for all the major sports as the lines move. What's more, the screen alerts you to when a game has started, then updates scores as the game is played. It doesn't keep pace with TV or radio, but if you're tracking multiple games, or the one you want isn't being broadcast, this is an excellent substitute. Give it a try. We predict it won't be long before you're using the feed all the time.
