Question of the Day - 20 March 2010

Q:
Often I read about the casinos of the Boulder Strip and North Las Vegas. Would you give us a list of which casinos are in each area. I'm confused.
A:

According to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, 32 casinos comprise the reporting area known as the "Boulder Strip." The Boulder Strip includes all the casinos along Boulder Highway, in the city of Henderson, and on the way to Boulder City. The American Gaming Association ranks the Boulder Strip at #10 out of the top 20 U.S. casino markets by annual revenue, just ahead of Reno-Sparks.

Since the 32 casinos include a number of tiny slot operations, we’re only listing those with more than 10,000 square feet of casino space. In descending order of square footage, they are: Green Valley Ranch, Sunset Station, Sam’s Town, Boulder Station, Fiesta Henderson, Eastside Cannery, Arizona Charlie’s Boulder, Joker’s Wild, Eldorado, Hacienda, Railroad Pass, and Club Fortune.

North Las Vegas casinos include: Aliante Station, Bighorn, Cannery, Jerry’s Nugget, Opera House, Poker Palace, Silver Nugget, Texas Station, Fiesta Rancho, and Lucky Club.

Click here for our printable pdf maps of Las Vegas casinos, by area, in our LVA Visitor Guide. (Note that we break things down to narrower geographical areas than the GCB/ACG, so you'll find some of their "North Las Vegas" properties listed on our "Rancho Strip" map and some of what are classed as "Boulder Strip" properties under "Henderson" on our site.
