Thanks for the kudos.
Unfortunately, as far as we know, there’s no single central source for bargain information on Reno, Laughlin, or Mesquite, or Jackpot, Wendover, Pahrump, or any other casino town in Nevada.
Basically, it’s hit or miss with websites when you Google the names of the cities and towns.
You might expect Reno, for example, to be most like Las Vegas with the level of Advisor-type information available, and we've fielded many many requests over the years to expand into northern Nevada. But the fact is, it's too small and doesn't change enough to justify a Reno-Sparks-Tahoe Advisor. And the evidence is in the paltry amount of information about Reno and its environs.
For example, Renolocals.com posts (a few) coupons and has a forum (with 150 registered users). Renovalue.com is a site that mostly advertises gentleman’s clubs, but has a few listings for meal deals, especially late-night. Cheaprenotravel.com has a page for dining deals, but currently doesn’t list any. Weak. Cheaprenotravel’s hotel deals are just click-throughs to the casino reservation systems. And national sites like gotime.com/reno have a few listings, but nothing you can't live without.
The best place to get meal-deal and gambling-promotion info in Reno is the "Best Bets" section of the Reno Gazette-Journal, which is distributed with the Wednesday paper. You can also visit online and click on Dining, then Meal Deals, to get the same coverage. But the "Games People Play" promotions section of Wednesday’s "Best Bets" paper isn’t reproduced online.
Basically, other than Las Vegas and its beloved Las Vegas Advisor, it’s tough to get advance information about bargains and deals for the rest of the state. You have to show up at the destination and keep your eyes open for coupons, freebie magazines, and the weekly entertainment sections of the newspapers.
