Firstly, thanks! We always appreciate positive feedback.
As to your question, yes, it was a sad day for many when, on May 27, the Las Vegas Classic Jazz band ended its 23-year run in the lounge at the Gold Coast, which they'd helped open all those years ago and had performed in ever since. Apparently, they were given just four weeks notice that the longest-running lounge gig in Las Vegas' history was over. They ended their final performance with Peggy Lee's "I Love Being Here With You."
Over the years, the six-piece band went through many incarnations and name changes, but in essence has remained the same. As a result, it grew a loyal fan base, both among locals and out-of-town visitors to the Gold Coast.
The good news is that the band has a new home at the Rampart, where it begins performing in Addison's Lounge Thursday, August 19, from 1-4 p.m. Its next scheduled gig there is Thursday, September 2. It's not a permanent engagement yet, but you can check the "Events" tab on their Facebook page for future dates.
