This January 6-9, the Sands Expo Center will once again host the world's largest adult tradeshow, as the 28th Annual AVN Awards Adult Expo hits Sin City. The adult-entertainment equivalent of the Oscars, the Annual AVN Awards Show takes place at The Pearl at the Palms (click the link for tickets).
The four-day industry expo at the Sands will feature the usual line-up of vendors and performers from the world of porn, plus a program of seminars, contests, and performances by adult stars and strippers. Admission to the general public is $80, or $100 for a "VIP Fan" ticket -- click here to book.
In addition to the daytime schedule there are, of course, after parties all over town hosted by nightclubs, bars, and gentlemen's clubs. This year's official parties are taking place at Rain, Moon, Ghostbar, and the Playboy Club at the Palms, plus TAO and LAVO at Venetian/Palazzo; click here for details.
As far as "unofficial" parties are concerned, here are the ones we've heard about so far:
- Dancers from Sapphire, the official gentlemen's club of AEE, will be performing with Silent Treatment on the Main Stage at the Expo January 9, from 1-1:30 p.m. and the club welcomes guest hosts Brooklyn Lee and Courtney Cummz (Jan. 7, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.) and Tori Lane and Brook Haven (Jan. 8, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.).
- Crazy Horse III topless club is hosting a Film Nomination Party Friday, Jan. 7, hosted by adult star Tabitha Stevens, whose newest movie is up for 10 AVN Awards. AVN exhibitors and those with a performer badge from the award show will get exclusive access to the open bar from 11 p.m. until 1 a.m.
- Larry Flynt's Hustler Club will be home to the rooftop Swingers After Party on Jan. 8, hosted by Ron Jeremy and Claudia Marie.
- The Palomino, Las Vegas' only all-nude gentlemen's club that serves alcohol, will be hosting an AVN party on Jan. 7 as part of the weekly "Urban Nite" event, featuring an Amateur Contest with a $500 cash prize. Adult stars expected to be in attendance include, Pinky xxx, Cherokee D Ass, Aryanna Star, Chyanne Jacobs, Beauty Dior, and Danielle Dunn.
- PBR Rock Bar & Grill at Miracle Mile Shops in Planet Hollywood will be celebrating with the first annual "Hoe-Down Hoedown," Friday, Jan. 7 starting at 10 p.m., where you'll get to party with adult stars and compete in the mechanical bull riding competition. There's a $500 cash prize up for grabs for the most impressive bull rider, plus various drink specials.
- Rockhouse at the IP is calling for all "CES Pervs and AVN Nerds" (the porn convention always cooincides with the annual Consumer Electronics Show, too, so it's a good week for the strip clubs), offering free admission and a complimentary cocktail to all conventioneers showing valid credentials from Jan. 6-9.
- McFadden's at the Rio, another venue that likes to pride itself as a party bar, will be home to the "Party like a Porn Star" party on Saturday, Jan. 8, hosted by Mary Carey, with an open bar from 10 p.m. to midnight for $15 (ladies) and $25 (men), plus a "Sexy Lap Dance" contest.
- On Thursday, Jan. 6, The Artisan hotel will host a joint kick-off party for Immoral Productions, Pure Play Media, OC Modeling, AEBN, Porn Star Platinum, and Streamate, hosted by Lily Carter, Victoria White, and Sindee Jennings. The event runs from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
- Happy hour at FIRST Food and Bar at Palazzo will be hosted by adult film stars Audrey Bitoni, Brooklyn Lee, Breanne Benson, and Courtney Cummz on Friday, Jan. 6 and Saturday, Jan. 7. Drinks are 2-for-1 from 4 to 6 p.m. and the ladies will be there from 5 to 8 p.m. each night.
- PURE at Caesars Palace will be home to the official Penthouse party on Jan. 8, hosted by Nikki Benz, with Ryan Keely, Taylor Vixen, and Charlie Laine.
- Saturday, Jan. 8 Crown Theater at the Rio hosts "Late Night Peep Show" with a performance by Dan Diamond and appearances by adult entertainers Kylee King and Rachael Roxxx.
- Lastly, Striptease, the Show -- the topless burlesque revue currently performing at the Sahara -- informed us that they'll be offering 2-for-1 tickets for AEE: Just mention LVSTRIPTEASE.
Expect unofficial events at other nightspots and strip clubs, too -- Babes and Little Darlings totally nude venues regularly feature guest performances from adult entertainers through the year, for example so we'd expect some events during AVN week, atlhough we haven't heard of any other specific events yet.
