Question of the Day - 15 March 2011

Q:
What happened to the "Player's Edge" column in the Review-Journal? It is still listed in the Entertainment section but there are no columns for 2011.
A:

For those readers unfamiliar with "Player's Edge," it was a weekly feature in the "Neon" section of the Las Vegas Review=Journal co-authored by gambling experts and Huntington Press authors Bob Dancer and Jeffrey Compton.

"We’ve stopped running that column," confirms Features Editor Frank Fertado, citing the retirement of Jeffrey Compton. Although Compton has retired, an excellent replacement has been located, Bob Dancer informed us, but the R-J is currently undecided whether or not to continue "Player’s Edge." Says Fertado, "Temporarily, it's gone." If you miss the column and wish it continue, contact the R-J and let them know.

The good news, however, is that Bob Dancer is now contributing a weekly video poker column to this website. A new feature goes live each Tuesday.

Bob has also started co-hosting a weekly radio show with fellow video poker expert Frank Kneeland, which you can catch live on air at 7 p.m. PST Thursday nights on KLAV Talk-Radio 1230 AM In Las Vegas, in listen in online at klav1230am.com (catch it live if you can, as they give away prizes). Plus, he continues to offer his ever-popular free video poker classes at South Point; click the link for the upcoming schedule.
