Sure. Much as the whole "daylife" scene continues to grow with every passing summer, there are plenty of other options beyond the party scenes at Hard Rock, Wet Republic, Palms, TAO Beach, and Encore Beach Club.
The Hilton has a free nightly party called "Cool by the Pool," with DJs, live music, and drink and appetizer specials that's aimed at the Baby Boomer generation and is definitely reminiscent of the old pool-party scene you might recall.
Silverton has remodeled its pool area and is hosting an al fresco concert series this year, as is Red Rock, once more. We think you'd feel at home at either venue. The Concerts on the Beach series at Mandalay Bay is always fun, too, and draws an eclectic crowd where no one should feel out of place. The Flamingo pool area underwent some changes this year, but we understand the main pool will be hosting some classic Vegas-style parties, with drink specials and other promos.
Aliante Station has a pool scene that's open to non-guests -- you could check out "The Deck" on Sundays, which feature all-you-can-drink mimosas from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with live band and DJ. You should also look out for one-off events through the summer, like the food, booze, and music nights sponsored by Rock 'n Roll Wine, which definitely attract a 30s+ crowd.
If you or your partner is looking for a topless pool with a mellow vibe, we'd recommend either Bare Pool Lounge at Mirage or Moorea Beach Club, both of which are very relaxed and are patronized by a spectrum of ages, in our experience.
Those are just a few suggestions. For complete listings of which pools are open to non-hotel guests, which host parties and other events, and much more, check out our Cool Pools feature, which we update on a regular basis.
