Question of the Day - 09 July 2011

Q:
Whatever became of Rich and Rene Serpe and the Coffee Roasters Museum of Las Vegas located on Boulder Highway? At one time Rich was a coffee roaster for Steve Wynn. We used to stop and visit them every time came to Vegas. They were so welcoming and had the best coffee and teas.
A:

Rich Serpe fell in love with the art of coffee making during a childhood trip to Italy with his grandmother, which came to fruition years later in Coffee Roasters of Las Vegas, a full-on coffee bean roasting house, cooffee and tea house, and retail store. It offered free behind-the-scenes demonstrations of the whole bean-to-coffee process and was a great spot for purchasing interesting gifts. However, after many years serving the Las Vegas community and it's coffee-loving visitors, in 2008 the facility closed without warning, a victim of the economy and a less-than-ideal location, we assume, and we've been unable to find any trace of Rich or Rene since.
