Las Vegas restaurant critic, and notorious bon viveur, Al Mancini writes:
Finding a restaurant to accommodate 40 people in Las Vegas is surprisingly easy. The Venetian and Palazzo, for example, have more than a dozen restaurants between them that can accommodate a party as large as yours. So, if you have a favorite restaurant here in town, you should definitely give it a call ahead of time and see if it's able to work with you; in the meantime, we’re more than happy to recommend a few of our favorites.
For a party spot with good food and a stunning view, you can't do any better than Top of the World at the Stratosphere. The venue has four private rooms on the 103rd and 104th floors, each of which can comfortably seat up to 80 people. When you book, you have a choice of ordering from the restaurant's "fine dining" menu, or from the hotel's catering menu, depending on your taste and budget.
If your party is looking for a celebrity-chef experience, Emeril Lagasse's Table 10 and Delmonico Steakhouse are both able to handle a party of 40, as are Mario Batali's B&B Ristorante and Carnevino, and Thomas Keller’s French bistro Bouchon, all located in the Venetian/Palazzo resort.
On the other hand, if you’re in the mood for Asian cuisine, MGM Grand's your best bet. The private dining room at gourmet Chinese restaurant The Pearl can easily accommodate parties of 40 to 50. It offers three different family-style menus, priced from $65 to $95 a person, or if you prefer Japanese, Shibuya is just a few steps down the hall. The latter offers Japanese food and sushi with a French accent and is also more than capable of handling your needs, people-wise.
Finally, while I know you requested a spot on the Strip, it would feel remiss of me not to offer at least one option downtown. The Arts District and Fremont East neighborhoods are quickly becoming two of the more popular areas in Las Vegas and Bar + Bistro, located in the heart of the former, has an amazing new chef who serves excellent Spanish-fusion cuisine. While the restaurant doesn't have a dedicated private dining room, they’re more than happy to convert one of their spaces into one, when desired.
That's just a personal shortlist -- there's really no shortage of restaurants willing and able to host your event. Just be aware that parties of more than 10 to 12 people are usually required to order from a more limited menu; it's simply too difficult for a kitchen staff to serve several dozen people at the same time if they're all ordering from the house menu. And be sure to call in advance to reserve your spot and give the staff fair warning, so they can assist in planning a memorable event for you all.
We hope this helps. And happy anniversary!
