Question of the Day - 13 November 2011

Q:
Whatever happened to Kaiser medical insurance in Las Vegas? If I recall correctly Kaiser provided policies in Hawaii, California and Nevada.
A:

We asked company spokesman Jason L. Allen and received the following reply: "Kaiser Permanente serves 8.9 million members in nine states (California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii, Colorado, Georgia, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland) and the District of Columbia. The organization has not offered health plan products in Nevada. While it is possible that Kaiser Industries, which predates Kaiser Permanente, could have offered health coverage to its employees on Nevada construction sites over a half century ago, there are no current plans to expand … beyond incremental growth in the communities we currently serve."
