Question of the Day - 20 February 2012

Q:
I had a reservation for the Las Vegas Club hotel February 17th to the 21st, but yesterday I received a call telling me that I had been moved to the Plaza. It turns out that the LVC hotel is only open Friday and Saturday nights now. According to the lady I spoke with, the change happened shortly before Christmas and no date for resuming full operations has been determined. Can you find out anything more about their plans? And how often do you check the room rates that are published in the LVA?
A:

When we first received this QoD submission earlier this month, a call to room reservations was met with categorical denials regarding any closure of Las Vegas Club hotel rooms or relocation of guests, so we figured it was possibly a one-off situation or misunderstanding. But we subsequently received additional similar inquiries, so last Friday we called back and this time someone -- slightly guarded -- in room reservations conceded that LVC is currently taking bookings Friday through Sunday only, due to what she thought was "some kind of ongoing remodel," an end-date for which has not been announced. While the LVC rooms are out of commission, guests are being diverted to the newly upgraded Plaza across the street.
