Question of the Day - 22 March 2012

Q:
I'm coming to Las Vegas the end of this month. I always get a rental car. Is there a web site that shows road construction so I can do some planning for my trips around town?
A:

You're in luck. The Regional Transport Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has compiled an interactive map of various agencies' and utility companies' current construction and maintenance projects around Las Vegas, to help drivers plan and navigate the best routes. Supplement that knowledge with their Freeway Travel Times Interactive Dashboard for an up-to-the-minute look at where the current trouble spots lie.

For prompt alerts about accidents and other incidents causing road closures or delays, we'd recommend following our own Today's News column (you can subscribe to the RSS feed or sign up to follow @LVA_Tweet for timely prompts), while the Channel 8 News Now site is also a good source for updates on current road conditions, including the results of accidents, fires, medical emergencies, and construction.

Happy motoring!
