Steel Panther, hailing originally from L.A., is a parody of '80s-style hair bands. The group's known mainly for its profane and humorous lyrics, and exaggerated on-stage antics that hark back to the glam-metal era.
The band's four members -- Michael Starr, Satchel, Lexxi Foxx, and Stix Zardinia -- have been together since 2000, including in previous incarnations Danger Kitty, Metal Shop, and Metal Skool. They have two albums to their credit, titled "Feel The Steel" (2009) and "Balls Out" (2011). Known for its cover versions, Steel Panther has also been crowned "Best Tribute Band" in California and is a favorite among celebrities.
In fact, according to Wikipedia, to date Steel Panther been joined on stage by the likes of Criss Angel, Kenny Loggins, Kip Winger, Corey Taylor, David Draiman, Hal Sparks, David Bryan, Vince Neil, Sebastian Bach, Tony Romo, Dane Cook, Chris Jericho, Corey Feldman, Evan Seinfeld, Tera Patrick, Sully Erna, Drew Carey, Mike Starr, Chad Kroeger, Ryan Cabrera, Jerry Cantrell, Justin Hawkins, Kelly Clarkson, Ryan Key, Phil Anselmo, Billy Ray Cyrus, Tom Morello, P!nk, Scott Ian, Justin Parks, M Shadows, and Avril Lavigne, to name but some.
Steel Panther tours often, including having clocked up stints supporting Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, and Guns'N Roses. They've been performing regularly in Las Vegas for some time to our knowledge and currently the band has an irregular gig on Friday nights at Mandalay Bay's House of Blues. Don't believe the MBay website, which states that Steel Panther performs every Friday -- the April 28 show has been canceled, and the upcoming schedule skips some dates, so check on the band's official website to avoid disappointment, and to see if they'll be performing somewhere near you anytime soon. Tickets for the HoB show at MBay are $20 (free to locals); must be 18+.
