We most certainly are -- or, to be accurate, Anthony Curtis is. He's been covering the entire Monday Night Football scene across the valley for a decade and that includes all the gentlemen's clubs.
If you're an LVA Member, you'll be aware of a trend summed up in last October's issue, when Anthony noted that, "The MNF scene ain’t what it used to be," reporting on a gradual downsizing over the past few years that was palpable in 2011 and has only become more pronounced in 2012.
Check out the upcoming October issue of the LVA newsletter for in-depth coverage of what Anthony has found so far on his Monday-night travels this year, but when it comes to gentlemen's clubs specifically, his observation last year still holds true, and "Whether or not you go to strip clubs as a rule, they’re absolutely a must-consider on Monday nights during football season." He went on to explain that, "As a group, these places outdo the casinos and local bars when it comes to their MNF shindigs and if you do it right, you can eat and drink for free on Monday nights through the rest of the year." Sweet!
That rule still holds true today, but even the strip-club parties are fewer and farther between, with some big players like Hustler doing nothing more than screening the games, in conjunction with their regular happy-hour drink prices.
Still, a few of the big players are still in the game and Anthony recommends Treasures as the top pick for MNF viewing in 2012, with Sapphire and Crazy Horse III also worth checking out. When he checked out Treasures last week, the club was busy, and they're offering a good free buffet, plus dollar domestic beer, wine, and well drinks till 6 p.m. (Thereafter, all drinks go to regular high strip-club prices but are 2-for-1.) Notable disappointments this year include the offerings from Olympic Garden, Spearmint Rhino, and Cheetah's.
