The ownership and management of the former Las Vegas Hilton has been in a headache-inducing state of flux for some time and we're thankful that this is not the subject of your question (for the curious, allow us to refer you to coverage by LVA's Stiffs & Georges blogger David McKee and more recent developments reported in the Las Vegas Review-Journal).
But, to cut a long and convoluted story short, rumors of the the demise of LVH's casino appear to be much exaggerated and, to date, the property continues to operate its gaming floor, including offering live table games.
What changes may be in the pipeline, we would not presume to speculate at this juncture, but more than one phone call placed to the property was met with adamant confirmation that Elvis impersonator Trent Carlini is scheduled to perform through the end of 2012 (you can still purchase tickets via the LVH website through December 31) and that he's signed to perform in the Shimmer Cabaret theater into 2013, although no dates in the New Year have been confirmed, as yet. So, if you're headed out this way in late December, you should be in luck -- just bear in mind that the show is dark Tuesdays, so there's no performance on 12/18 or 12/25.
As to the future of the property, only time will tell -- keep an eye on "Today's News," "Stiffs & Georges," and the LVA newsletter for updates.
