It's no coincidence that last April Travel + Leisure magazine became the latest publication to pick Las Vegas as among the world's top vacation destinations for LGBT travelers. Several hotels, including Paris, Planet Hollywood, Wynn, New York-New York, Luxor, Artisan, and Rumor, not to mention the all-male gay-owned Blue Moon Resort, all actively market to the gay community, with commitment-ceremony packages, special events, and more.
Entertainment-wise, the city is playing host to an increasing number of LGBT happenings, including the annual PRIDE Week celebrations. In 2012 the iconic Girl Bar/Truck Stop Girlz Dinah Shore Weekend relocated to Las Vegas, hosted by Caesars Entertainment properties both last year and this, while MGM Resorts International has its own Fabulous festivities, taking place this year in September, with multiple events and icons of the gay community performing across all its Las Vegas properties.
In addition, this summer sees Luxor's Oasis Pool hosting its weekly Temptation Sundays LGBT pool party for the fifth consecutive year, while downtown is now giving the (in)famous Fruit Loop a run for its money, with Drink 'n Drag, featuring drag-queen bowling, billiards, and darts, plus regular live cabaret acts, among many other things, not to mention the the soon-to-debut KRAVE Massive, which claims it will be the largest gay club (five dance rooms) in the world and throws its grand opening this June 15.
While there are no specific (gay*) male revues that we're aware of, Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity is very gay-friendly and features both male-on-male and female-on-female vignettes. (*Sapphire, the OG, and the Palomino gentlemen's clubs all feature male strip shows, but they're all geared toward female audiences, in the same way shows like Chippendales and Thunder from Down Under are, although the latter are likely significantly more gay-friendly than a straight-oriented strip club is going to be.)
Las Vegas is home to famous openly-lesbian DJ Lisa Pittman, who performs regularly at multiple venues and is a vocal supporter/promoter of the LGBT scene here, while nightlife-wise the city can also offer you gay Karaoke, drag-queen bingo, fetish nights, amateur strip nights, a bathhouse, a Country & Western bar, more than one leather/Levis bar, a straight-sports-bar-turned-Latin-gay-bar, and much more. That "much more" includes Share, a former female strip club (last known, in its former incarnation, as Discreet and located at 4636 Wynn Rd.), which is now a gay nightclub downstairs and male strip club upstairs.
For details and descriptions for all of these venues/specialty nights, plus others we haven't listed here, we'll refer you to Blue Moon Resort's Gay Nightlife page. It's not necessarily totally up-to-date (it still lists KRAVE as being on the Strip, for example, when in fact that club has closed, relocated to the Rio, and closed again -- pending the move downtown -- since it was in its original home on Harmon Ave.) Still, that should give you a pretty good overall picture -- just call ahead to check on times, prices, special events, and whether a venue is even still in business before making a special journey (there's a Gay Las Vegas Google map to help you locate all the venues.) Q Vegas magazine and website is another great source for listings, upcoming events, and LGBT-related news.
Have fun!
