Q:
I will be in Vegas on the Fourth of July. Can you tell me if anything special will be going on and the schedule for the fireworks?
A:
We've been inundated with requests for information about July 4th events, so here's the lowdown. It's always a huge weekend on the Las Vegas calendar, and there will be food and drink specials all over town, but what follows are the highlights regarding events and fireworks displays:
- Station Casinos will lead the way again this year for fireworks on the 4th. Station's nine-minute display -- dubbed the "We Love Locals July 4th Fireworks Blast" -- will emanate from Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock, which means you should be able to see it from either side of the Strip. The show is scheduled to start shortly after 9 p.m.
- Caesars Palace will also present a fireworks show. Caesars' display will begin at 9 p.m. and will last about 10 minutes.
- For the fifth year in a row, Primm Valley Casino will celebrate July 4th with its own fireworks display. Guests are invited to enjoy the amusement rides and attractions until the fireworks go off at dusk.
- The Smith Center will light up the sky downtown with a fireworks show at 9 p.m.
- The City of Henderson's 4th of July Celebration will kick off at 5 p.m. and feature live music, Volleyball and Basketball Tournaments, and other holiday activities. There will be fireworks at Mission Hills Park at 9 p.m., accompanied by the Henderson Symphony Orchestra.
- The 17th Annual Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade starts at 8:30 a.m. and features more than 60 entries, including floats, oversized helium balloons, live bands, performing groups, and storybook characters. The parade begins at the corner of Hill Point Road and Hills Center Drive and ends at the corner of Trailwood Drive and Spring Gate Lane.
- Boogie Knights and The Spazmatics will perform live at Aliante Hotel + Casino's pool, and for $25 you can enjoy all-day access to the pool and a poolside BBQ.
- Cabo Wabo Cantina inside the Miracle Mile shops will celebrate with $19 20-ounce red, white, and blue daiquiris that come in souvenir glasses. Beau Doyle, the drummer from The Busker Kings, will be entertaining on the patio.
- Also inside the Miracle Mile shops, PRB Rock Bar is celebrating with $5 Parton XO shots and a $50 all-day open bar.
- The Eiffel Tower Experience at Paris Las Vegas is offering a VIP Fourth of July package for $49, which includes VIP access to the observation deck to watch the Caesars fireworks, a complimentary cocktail of your choice, and a mini American flag. The event starts at 8:45 p.m.
- Rhumbar at the Mirage is celebrating all weekend long with deals on cocktails, cigars, hookahs, and live DJs. The party starts at 3 p.m and specials include $18 domestic beer buckets, $8 house-selection cigars, and $5 rum-punch cocktails, Coors Light bottles, and vodka mixed drinks.
- Rockhouse in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian is having a "Get Red, White, and Buzzed for Independence Day" party, complete with red, white, or blue daquiris for $13 and "patriotic shots" for $4 until midnight. Plus, all ladies dressed in red, white, or blue bikinis will receive open-bar access for just $5.
- The Palms is celebrating with a free Industry BBQ at noon, featuring food by Heraea and sound by DJ Presto One.
Have a great 4th.
