Why has MGM players club stopped letting you move from one hotel to another on their deals? For over 15 years we have stayed at MGM Grand for three free nights, then packed and moved to New York-New York for three free nights. And now they say NOPE! Flying all the way from East Coast to Vegas and only staying three nights does not make "cents." We still gamble, buy food, and see shows, so we don't feel MGM is losing money on a room that would be empty anyway. Bad move and would love to know the reason behind it.

MGM wouldn’t address your question publicly, so we put it to the Queen of Comps herself, Jean Scott. She writes, "I’m not sure of MGM policies these days since we no longer play there – but I’m not surprised they don’t allow back-to-back reservations. Caesars says you must have 72 hours between offers. Sometimes a host can get around these rules – but you have to be a pretty big or long-time customer to be considered."
We don’t know how large your play is, but we hope that it’s big enough that MGM reconsiders its treatment of you.

"We have experienced the problem of no back-to-back room comps at two MGM properties. We both have players cards and both earn room comps. They do allow us to combine our comps and, for example, use 2 days for me and 2 days for her to make a 4-day stay for the two of us. Ceasars does the same, so we can come cross country and stay for 8 days on comps."

"4/11/2014 QoD... We do this all the time w/CET. Just did in AC 3 weeks ago ... 3 nights at Caesars then moved to Bally's for 1 night (Fri. night) all Oceanview rooms, all comped. Website wouldn't let me do this but I booked the 3 Caesars nights online, then just called Bally's and they booked that night. No host, just regular Total Rewards. Have done it many times in Vegas as well."
