Q:
Hi. I'm a guy who likes to look good and my friends and I like to get facials before we hit the town. Is there a spa in Vegas that's open all night? Thanks.
A:
We appreciate a male who takes personal grooming seriously, so we will endeavor to help you. While we haven't found a spa that's open 24/7, we've come pretty close -- much to our surprise!
While ladies are catered to with a 24/7 nail-and-hair salon experience, courtesy of the fabulously named Get Nail'd, located across from the Hard Rock, we weren't hopeful of finding an equivalent for you guys. Oh we of little faith! This is Vegas, right? So, here are our findings:
- The Art of Shaving made its Las Vegas debut in the Shoppes at Mandalay Place, but now has multiple venues in town, with new ones on the way. More than just a barber shop, these upscale temples of male pampering have distilled shaving to an art form and for $55, the signature "Royal Shave" experience is a 45-minute treatment that involves pre- and post-shave hot-towel treatments (the latter is infused with lemon essential oil), a pre-shave oil treatment, an after-shave mask, a cold towel treatment (this one's infused with lavender oil), concluding with a hydrating toner (all using their own rarefied products). Appointments are recommended, especially if you plan to show up late; the good news is that the Mandalay Place venue is open until 9 p.m during the week and till 10 p.m. on the weekend, while the store in the Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian is open until 11 p.m. weekdays and until midnight Friday and Saturday.
- For a non-casino option, the Massage Envy chain has several suburban locations, the closest to the Strip being 4280 Blue Diamond, Suite 101, and these are open until 8 p.m. on the weekend, but until 10 p.m. Monday to Friday, offering a full menu of massage and facial services.
- If you're feeling adventurous, we keep meaning to try downtown's Imperial Health Spa, since we've read such great things about it. This place offers a menu of no less than 12 different treatments for the face, including the "Gentleman's Facial" -- a 60-minute experience which, for $115, promises to "renew your strength and vitality", plus you get to enjoy all the funky sauna and steam rooms at this Korean-style facility. It's located at 1070 E. Sahara Ave. and is open from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. every day (there's a second branch in Fullerton, too, which offers the same hours).
These are the only facilities we're aware of that come close to catering to your round-the-clock schedule; if anyone knows of a cool option that we missed, please drop us a line.
