Question of the Day - 31 August 2014

Q:
This Sunday, we're excerpting not words, but pictures, namely some teasers from our brand spanking new 2015 desktop calendar. A fun year-long romp that actually doubles as something useful, 'Gambling Cartoons 2015' features the observational artwork of two astute casino habitues with a sharp eye for gently poking fun at the amusing quirks and peculiarities of casinos and we who like to visit them.
A:

After fielding many queries over the years regarding gambling-related cartoons, we finally received a proposal that made sense—a 52-week desk-planner calendar. So we created one for 2015 featuring the work of Doug Pike and Harry Margulies.

Pike and Margulies are syndicated cartoonists who live about five minutes from each other in Scottsdale, Arizona, and have been friends for 15 years. Along with their love of cartooning, they’re both casino enthusiasts and say they’ve left money in practically every single one in Las Vegas, usually at the blackjack tables. While these guys may not always know when to stand or double down, they can spot the inspiration for a funny gambling cartoon all the way from Buffalo Bill's to the Stratosphere.

Together, they teamed up to produce 61 cartoons for our new calendar, Gambling Cartoons. For today’s Sample Sundays insertion, we offer several of the cartoons from the calendar, which are based on the vagaries, quirks, and peculiarities of all types of popular gambling.

Check ’em out, and if they give you a chuckle and you want to see more, the calendar is available now for $17.96 (plus shipping) at ShopLVA.com.
