Caesars Entertainment spokesman Gary Thompson says, "We’re expecting the construction there to be finished by Oct. 31 and that should alleviate the problem." However, to see the Imperial Palace/Quad/LINQ in its present state makes you wonder if anything short of a miracle can help them make their deadline.
The Vital Vegas blog poked around the Quad-into-LINQ and basically found a lot of nothing. We were on property recently and the retail promenade has been completely gutted and not yet replaced with anything. Areas of the main lobby were also walled off. Outside, re-painting of the structure continues in a profusion of purple, but we haven’t seen any indication of the old pagoda facades coming down.
Given the dubiousness of whether Caesars will make its LINQ-conversion deadline, we’d advise staying at one of their other properties in the meantime -- there are plenty to choose from in close proximity, including neighboring Harrah's and Flamingo at the lower end of the price spectrum, or the Cromwell, Bally's, Paris, and Caesars a little further south, all of which you can find decent deals for right now (with even deeper exclusive discounts and added perks if you're a member of the free LVAGold program, which just involves a quick sign-up with your email address).
