Question of the Day - 04 December 2014

Q:
I recently mailed in a winning sports ticket and sent it regular mail, since it was under $40. I've heard nothing more and I'm starting to think that something is wrong! Is there anything I can do? I made a copy of it and filled in my information on the back of the ticket. But since I didn't send it registered mail, am I out of luck? In the future, would I be better off signing up for an online sports-betting account while I'm in Nevada?
A:

This is typical of several similar queries we have sitting in the QoD file and it just so happened that professional sports bettor Frank B, who is now hosting LVASports.com, on Wednesday posted a comprehensive guide to the possible pitfalls of paper tickets, how to guard against situations such as the one this QoD questioner finds him/herself in, and what recourse you may have if something goes wrong. Hence, for today's answer, we'll actually redirect you to the new Ticket Troubles post by Frank B at LVASports.com.

Think of this sister site as the sports-betting equivalent of Las Vegas Advisor, with the same ethos and expert tips, money-saving advice, and insights and analysis from one of the most credible, aware, and sophisticated minds in this field today. If, after reading his post, you still have queries, feel free to post a "Comment" and, if appropriate/applicable, Frank will respond as soon as time permits.

We also recommend that any sports bettor -- whether you're a pro, are aspiring to be one, or simply are a sports fan who has fun placing the odd wager -- tune in regularly to LVASports.com, because you will find an ever-growing wealth of invaluable information there, including current Vegas and offshore lines feeds, breaking news from across the spectrum of bet-able sports -- check the top nav. for your game(s) of choice -- plus, insightful and trustworthy articles and tips, the LVASportsboards forum (now FREE for anyone to join and participate in), and a dedicated @LVASports Twitter to follow for live updates and companion tweets. Collectively, it's a great free resource that we highly recommend any sports bettor and/or fan take advantage of on a regular basis.
