We conducted a survey of all the courses in town and while most do not offer nine-hole play, there are a number of exceptions.

• Bali Hai Golf Club offers a discounted rate in the afternoons that varies by date and season. (702-728-2001, www.balihaigolfclub.com)

• Boulder City Golf Course offer post-noon play for $8, if you walk, and $17 if you use a cart. (702-293-9236, www.bouldercitygolf.com)

• Boulder Creek Golf Club does offer nine-hole play and is considering special, nine-hole pricing. (702-294-6534, www.bouldercreekgc.com)

• Desert Willow Golf Course also has nine-hole play. Nevada residents pay $23 and tourists are billed $30. (702-263-4653, www.desertwillowlasvegas.com)

• Durango Hills Golf Club has nine-hole play. The price ($12-$20) varies by time of day. (702-229-4653, www.durangohillsgolf.com)

• Eagle Crest has nine-hole play after 2p.m., for $25. (702-240-1320, www.golfsummerlin.com/course/ecc/html)

• Legacy Golf Club, on Friday through Sunday mornings, has a "nine and dine" package ($29 for members, $37 for locals) that runs from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and allows you to play the back nine. "Twilight rates" kick in four hours before sundown. You can play as many holes as you want. For Legacy discount cardholders it’s $30-$35, Nevada residents pay somewhat more and non-residents have to shell out as much as $75. (702-897-2200, www.thelegacygc.com)

• Painted Desert Golf Club offers a senior, nine-hole rate during the first hour and a half out of sunrise for $12. After noon, the senior rate goes to $11 and, after 2 p.m., there’s a "super twilight" price of $10. (702-645-2570)

• Revere at Anthem Golf Club has a nine-hole price, which usually kicks in after 2 p.m. It runs from $25 to $65, depending on the season. (702-259-4653, www.reveregolf.com)

• Siena Golf Club says "yes and no." It experimented with a nine-hole package last summer, but it’s an open question whether the experiment will be repeated in 2015. (702-341-9200, www.royallinksgolfclub.com)

• Silverstone Golf Club, a 27-hole course, has a "back nine and breakfast package" according to director of sales Matt Utter, but when it comes to pure nine-hole rates "generally we’ll run those just as a special." (702-562-3770, www.sienagolfclub.com)
