Question of the Day - 17 March 2015

Q:
I know sometimes I forget my casino players card and have to get a new one printed. That said, how many players cards do the casinos print each year? How many are for "new" members and how many are "duplicates"?
A:

Most companies we contacted did not want to address this question for fear of disclosing proprietary information. However, one that was happy to cooperate was Caesars Entertainment, home of the granddaddy of all loyalty programs, Total Rewards. Company spokesman Gary Thompson wrote us, "We have about 1.6 million new-card sign ups per year and ship our properties nearly 11 million additional cards to replace lost or damaged cards." MGM Resorts International printed 1.9 million players cards last year, with "roughly" 900,000 of those being replacement cards.

And our sincere thanks to CET for venturing where others apparently feared to tread!
