You are not alone in your love of Lorena Peril and her vocal talents; Arnold Snyder, writer/editor-in-residence for our adult sister site, ToplessVegasOnline.com, is a long-time fan and when, in 2013, it was announced that Peril would be leaving the cast of Fantasy to star in the touring musical Grease: The Arena Spectacular (she had landed the ONJ/Sandra Dee role, not surprisingly), he couldn't imagine how her shoes could possibly be filled. They were, miraculously, thanks to former (Vegas) Pussycat Dolls performer Jaime Lynch, but what of Ms. Peril?
A former cruise-ship entertainer who's had very little formal vocal or dance training but is what you might term "a natural," she was encouraged by a friend back in 2005 to jump ship and try out her talents in Las Vegas. This led to stints in Sunset Strip (which evolved into Sin City Bad Girls) at the former Las Vegas Hilton and then the role of Christina Aguilera in American Superstars (which was at the Stratosphere, as opposed to Legends, which still performs at the Flamingo). Finally, an opening arose for the lead singer in Luxor's long-running adult revue Fantasy, and Peril had found her niche for the next three years. Then the Grease opportunity materialized in 2013 and Ms. Peril found herself bound for Europe, where she performed in front of tens of thousands of show-goers in the UK, Italy, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Germany.
The following summer she and her musician husband, Ray Jon Narbaitz, were back in Sin City. By all accounts they took it easy to begin with, performing a string of casual gigs together in Golden Nugget's Rush Lounge and Palazzo's Zebra Lounge. These were interspersed with some one-off solo appearances by Lorena -- belting out the national anthem at sporting engagements is a particular specialty of her's), plus she's popped up at some charity fundraisers. But we hadn't heard much of late, so your query inspired us to reach out to Lorena Peril in person on Twitter and ask what she's currently up to.
We heard back from her immediately, with news that she's currently performing full time (Wednesday to Sunday at 7 and 9 p.m.) in Vegas! The Show! in the Saxe Theater in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. She's also "on call" for Fantasy, so one way or another you should be able to catch the substantial singing and dancing talents of Lorena Peril on a Las Vegas stage whenever you next have the opportunity to check her out.
