LVA’s advice: Don’t try it. "Our parking services and garages are for our guests. All others [are] subject to tow at vehicle owner’s expense," says MGM Resorts International spokeswoman Yvette Monet. "On that note, we do tow if we find a vehicle that is parked for an extended time period by a non-guest."
A Venetian/Palazzo spokesman said that "in terms of self-parking, security does monitor that regularly," looking for derelict cars and abandoned rental vehicles. And using valet parking to stash one’s car is "not something we advise. A person with an extended vacation – we could assume it’s abandoned," in which case Las Vegas Sands would alert local authorities. "Valet is here for day guests or overnight guests," he added, saying that he’d heard of someone who left his car in valet for five days and found it had been towed.
"It is not our general policy to house guests’ cars at the resort for this purpose," says M Resorts Director of Ann Lackomar, simply. Like M, Silverton Casino Lodge is one of the relatively few casinos in town to offer free shuttle service (as do the Caesars Entertainment properties and the MGM ones) to the McCarran International Airport. Silverton spokeswoman Kimiko Peterson says, "Our shuttle service is available for overnight guests staying in the hotel only. We have parking available for our guests that frequent the casino on a daily basis and for our hotel guests. Unfortunately, we do not allow our local guests to leave their vehicles on an extended basis, and use the shuttle to and from the airport." Stashing your car at a Station Casino would also be "highly discouraged," according to a spokesperson.
Your idea would be a non-starter at Boyd Gaming properties. Only Suncoast has an airport shuttle and its use is restricted to hotel guests ("We have to pull up their room reservation to set it up," said a Suncoast staffer). It’s also so far from the airport that the cost of taking a cab would be prohibitive. Given that Las Vegas’ cab rates are some of the steepest in the nation, you really should give serious consideration to using the long-term parking lots at McCarran International Airport. They’re not that much more expensive and the shuttles that ferry you to the terminal come around quite frequently. Or have a friend give you a ride. Using hotel parking as a way to warehouse your car while you’re on vacation is a very risky – and potentially quite expensive – proposition that really doesn't make much sense.
