Question of the Day - 24 April 2016

Q:
Often in "Today's News" you give the odds for UFC. Could you also at least give the results of the bouts? Neither of my newspapers cover UFC.
A:

We’ve considered doing this, but feel that posting results would create too much clutter in "Today’s News." Plus, you should be able to find game scores online. That said, here are some ways to use the assets we provide at LVASports.com to get the results of games whose lines we publish, as well as others.

In the past, most of the odds we’ve posted for big events have included a link back to our live lines feed at LVA Sports. We stopped including the link for a while, but have decided to resume the practice. Hence, even though the numbers we put up are representative of what’s "widely available" at the time we post them, you’ll be able to click through the link to access up-to-the-minute lines from several sports books, both in Las Vegas and offshore. Those same lines also give you the score and time remaining if a game is in progress.

If there’s no link, it’s because some sports, like MMA and tennis, aren’t tracked in the feed. For those you can use another area of LVASports.com. On the far right of the top navigation bar, click on "Today’s Scores." This area provides scores for most contests, both in-progress and complete, even in the more obscure sports. If the result you want is from an earlier date, click the tab that says "Previous Day" until you get to the day with the results you’re looking for. You can also use the "Today’s Scores" page to dig in for inside-the-game stats by clicking "Boxscore" or "Recap." There you’ll find individual and team stats that are relevant to prop bets and fantasy sports picks.

There are other sites like ESPN or CBS Sports that offer more detailed stats, but they don’t offer live odds, making the LVASports page the best all-in-one option.
