Question of the Day - 16 September 2016

Q:
Any truth to the rumor that the Boyd downtown casinos will start charging a resort fee after the first of the year?
A:

Not that we’ve heard.

And when we phoned room reservations and asked for price quotes on several dates in early 2017, we were quoted the room rate and tax, that’s all.

And when we asked the reservations agent if she’d heard anything about adding a resort fee to any of the three hotel-casinos for which she books rooms—Fremont, California, and Main Street Station—she laughed and said, "Not that I know of."

Of course, it’s never over till the fat accountant sings, and five other downtown hotels charge resort fees ranging from $8.95 to $20 (the Four Queens is the other downtown casino that does not charge a resort fee), but for now, it looks like a "no." We’ll certainly update the answer when and if we hear differently.
