Question of the Day - 21 April 2017

Q:

Why do I have to log in to vote in the poll? I never had to do that on the old site.

A:

It's been exactly a month since we launched the new website. Obviously, it wasn't perfect, but the only way to find out what was right and wrong with it was to put it out there and get a verdict from the "big jury" of members and users.

Many many MANY of you gave -- and continue to give -- us feedback that was and is incredibly valuable, and mere words can't express how much we appreciate the comments, criticism, encouragement, and overall appraisal of the site we've received. We're also extremely grateful for your loyalty during the transition. This site, like most others, is a perpetual work in progress, and though future changes will necessarily be incremental, we'll continue to improve the visitor experience as we hear further from you and as resources here become available.

To answer the question, no way on Earth did we mean to require logging in in order to vote in the poll. In fact, it only came to our attention when a few of you let us know that that was the case. We didn't realize it when we tested it -- because we're always logged in! And as soon as it came to our attention, we started working on changing it.

Anyway, it's all fixed now and anyone can vote, as it had always been. It's a cool poll on the relative level of the public's blackjack playing skills, which has always been a matter of debate among experts on both the civilian and custodial sides of the pit.

We encourage everyone to cast a ballot. Simply click to be whisked to the poll page.

    Don't Like Table Games!
We come to Vegas to have fun. We enjoy playing slots and getting "almost free" slot drinks. We do not play table games which we don't enjoy at all. We find Keno boring, also. I am sure that if I was a better "card counter" I would feel otherwise. In a typical 4 to 6 day trip, we usually manage to win (or win back-take your pick) all of our "investment" by traveling to 8 or more casinos on and off The Strip. We are also convinced that someday we will hit "the big one". (Isn't everyone?)
