There's obviously been a lot of discussion about the new parking fees at MGM and Caesars properties. But what about the two (unaffiliated?) valet spots at the Shoppes at Mandalay Bay and the Forum Shops at Caesars? Are they under the same policies?

When MGM started to charge for parking, the $64,000 question was whether retailers would follow suit or keep parking free, for fear of giving locals one less reason to come to the malls and spend. So far they seem to be going with Plan B.

According to Yvette Monet, spokeswoman for MGM Resorts, valet parking is still free at the Shoppes at Mandalay Bay.

We also shot off an e-mail off to Simon Properties, owner of the Forum Shops. The reply: “Valet parking at the Forum Shops currently remains complimentary!” (Complete with exclamation point.)
