Question of the Day - 12 May 2017

Q:

What are they building by the pool at Circus Circus? A water park? Free for guests?

A:

Family friendly Las Vegas is back “in” … at least at Circus Circus.

What you’re seeing is the third major attraction at the clown's casino that's aimed at a family audience (Adventuredome and the Midway being the others). It’s called Splash Zone and, when completed, will feature a 50-foot-tall tower, from which three water slides will branch forth: a four-lane mat racer, a speed slide, and an aqua tube. Water cannons and splash falls are among the other attractions promised, along with new seating and “shade structures” (i.e., cabanas), lockers for your valuables, and a food truck.

The investment doesn’t just extend to the new pool. When that's done, the two existing pools will get a makeover, including totally new restrooms and showers and a renovated snack bar. Perhaps sending a bit of a mixed message, Circus will also redo one of the older pools as an adults-only venue (though not topless).

Splash Zone is expected to be ready in June and will only be open to Circus Circus guests. According to MGM spokeswoman Wendle Mosca, “Circus Circus hotel guests will receive a predetermined number of pool passes per day of their stay at no charge.”

I think they could invest in more things as well with starting with the sign outside. You think that MGM can get rid of that creepy clown and revamp the place with another circus type performer. They need to clean the place up inside as well. Run down and tired looking. I don't have kids, so I don't stay there because of all the children but I do go in and play their machines and table games from time to time. I read once that when they first opened the place, that they had a baby elephant that they led around the casino floors. They had to stop it because it craped all over. Wow! Only in Vegas

I think it's money well spent. Vegas does not have family friendly places ( well to few), and this hotel casino caters to them. I personaly don't have small kids, but it's good to know they're still welcome (kids) somewhere. If I dont want contact with the little gremlins I just head out to any other property and that's that. Sure, the place is old, but at least they're doing something to it, mabe they will remodel the casino area next?, the outside next?, but leave the creepy clown alone, it's an Iconic sign, there are almost none left, It's one of the few reminders of what Vegas Was.
