What are they building by the pool at Circus Circus? A water park? Free for guests?
Family friendly Las Vegas is back “in” … at least at Circus Circus.
What you’re seeing is the third major attraction at the clown's casino that's aimed at a family audience (Adventuredome and the Midway being the others). It’s called Splash Zone and, when completed, will feature a 50-foot-tall tower, from which three water slides will branch forth: a four-lane mat racer, a speed slide, and an aqua tube. Water cannons and splash falls are among the other attractions promised, along with new seating and “shade structures” (i.e., cabanas), lockers for your valuables, and a food truck.
The investment doesn’t just extend to the new pool. When that's done, the two existing pools will get a makeover, including totally new restrooms and showers and a renovated snack bar. Perhaps sending a bit of a mixed message, Circus will also redo one of the older pools as an adults-only venue (though not topless).
Splash Zone is expected to be ready in June and will only be open to Circus Circus guests. According to MGM spokeswoman Wendle Mosca, “Circus Circus hotel guests will receive a predetermined number of pool passes per day of their stay at no charge.”
