Question of the Day - 02 June 2017

Q:

What is the Dome at the Container Park in downtown Las Vegas?

A:

The Dome is a 55-seat planetarium-like theater that a Container Park spokesman says is “the first of its kind.

The theater opened on April 10, though the dome itself has been in place since the Container Park opened in 2013 and has been used sporadically to host private events.

Six ultra-high-definition (4K) “immersive experiences” are presented at the Dome, three rock shows (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd’s The Wall, and U2), plus animated dinosaur  and explore-the-universe shows and an interactive video game (“Earth Defender”).

The seats recline almost fully while you watch the video on a 360-degree screen inside the dome; 14 million pixels are projected via 36,000 lights.

Shows take place at various times throughout the day, from noon to 9 p.m. and range in price from $5 (for the eight-minute video game) to $30 (for the 50-minute Pink Floyd show with dinner at the park).

You can get all the times and prices and book tickets at thedomelv.com.

    Shows
We have pretty much the exact same thing at the Greensboro Science Center. I've gone to Laser Beatles and Laser Pink Floyd shows, as well as movies and planetarium-type shows. Can be a fun thing to do.
