Question of the Day - 18 June 2017

Q:

Do you know how the all-day buffet pass works at Monte Carlo? I do Caesars’ 24-hour pass a lot and I can start at 5 p.m. Wed. and go to 5 p.m. Thursday. Is the Monte Carlo’s similar or is it just for that one day?

A:

At Monte Carlo, the all-day pass is just that: good for the one day. You can enter the buffet as many times as you like, but the pass starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 10 p.m. on the same day, so you're limited to three meals (unlike the 24-hour pass, with which you can jam in four).

Monday through Friday, breakfast is served 7-11 a.m., lunch 11 a.m.-4 p.m., and dinner 4-10 p.m. Saturday-Sunday brunch is 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., dinner 4-10 p.m.

Prices for the pass are Mon.-Thurs. $35 adult, $25 child; Fri.-Sun. $46 adult, $26 child.

Our last buffet experience at the Monte Carlo was in 2015 for breakfast and Dinner. Somewhat limited with no Eggs Benedict but a full omelette station. The line cook "hand sorted" the shredded cheese using his bare hands with no gloves. That was A real "turn-off" for me. Dinner was O.K. but not outstanding, with a few almost empty or "crusty" steam table items. That was at 6:30 PM. Prime rib was acceptable but not outstanding and very little sea food that night. You get what you pay for. It "ain't" The Wynn.
