    Short Walk to Heatstroke
Hard Rock at least a half mile. I haven't seen anyone do the long walk over the expressway to Rio from The Strip in a couple of years as it looks impossible and unsafe. Not even sure if there are sidewalks. A good way to die of heat stroke in 100+ degree heat.

    PARKING
you say free parking at t.i. at the top of this page---then you have $2 for non-hotel guests per hour ???

    Walking
I have made that walk. It's safe (during the day) and there is a sidewalk all the way to the Rio, but why would you. Grab the shuttle from Bally's to the Rio and it's a short walk to the Palms or Gold Coast.

    Hardrock a SHORT WALK?
When Planet Hollywood first opened as the NEW Aladdin, on our first trip to Vegas, we did the walk from there to Hardrock to buy our first "deal" in Vegas, the "Gamblers Special" at the restaurant inside Hardrock. Back then it was $7.77, and not on the menu, you had to know about it to ask to get it. Anyhow, we thought.....it's only a couple blocks and set out on the walk. IT'S A LONG WALK from the strip, I am here to tell you. I can't imagine someone parking there to get free parking and hiking to the strip, only to make that hike back again later in the day. Fortunately, we found out that both the Hardrock casino AND the Hardrock Restautrant, both had shuttles to take you back/forth to the strip. Don't know if either still does, but it was a welcome discovery. That same year, we also did the walk to the Palms from the Strip (yep, younger and always looks much closer than it really is) and also found out about the free Rio shuttle, which took us back. A live and learn experience
