Question of the Day - 01 July 2017

Q:

I love the show “America's Got Talent.” We're planning a vacation to coincide with the Las Vegas winners show. How can we find out when and where it will be so that we can make hotel reservations?

A:

Fremantle Media spokeswoman Kristina Kirk says that information hasn’t been finalized yet. “We usually don’t announce details until close to the season finale,” she adds.

We also sent out a feeler to NBC Universal, but it had no information to add.

This is the 12th season of the immensely popular talent show, which awards the winners $1 million (paid in a 40-year annuity) and a chance to headline a show on the Las Vegas Strip. Terry Fator, Mat Franco, Piff the Magic Dragon, Nathan Burton, Ryan Stock of the “Comedy Daredevil,” and several other Las Vegas performers (present and past) are all alumnae of the show. Interest was so strong about last year's winner, 12-year-old ukelele player Grace VanderWaal, that a fourth show had to be added to the three originally scheduled at Planet Hollywood.

The three weeks of live quarter-finals will begin in early August and air on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The two weeks of live semi-finals follow in late August. The two-part finale will air in mid-September, but when won't be announced until the last minute. So be prepared to book a flight to Vegas on very short notice.

It's not "that" short of a notice
The Vegas show is usually held in late October/early November. However, they have to wait until after the finale before they know what acts will be there. In the past two years, the winner, the runner-up, and a "gimmick" act that was in the finals (Piff the Magic Dragon and Tape Face) performed.

    Buffalo Video
I notice that the Buffalo video games are very popular now. However, there are several versions of this game and I'm wondering which is the best play of all the variants? Thanks.

    America's Got Talent
Was that a typo about the $1 Million annuity on America's Got Talent that it is paid over 40 YEARS and not 4 YEARS?? If not, wow!..Hope they live long enough to get it!...
