Question of the Day - 10 June 2026

Q:

OK, I totally understand the RNG in a slot machine.  The moment you hit the play button... your "fate" is decided.  I trying to figure out if that's the same when you hit a bonus.  Does the very first, initial spin on the RNG decide when you get a bonus and does it also decide the outcome of the bonus and number of free spins?  Example: I've hit a bonus and there are "fireballs" falling into the "grid".  Then the second grid opens and more balls are captured in it.  Then a third grid opens and more balls are captured in it until I spin 3 (sometimes more) times without any balls being captured.  My bonus is now over and I'm paid for the value of the balls captured in the grid.  Has this entire process of hitting a bonus, balls falling being captured and finally paying the value of the captured balls been determined by the very first initial spin? I keep thinking the RNG will first decide that you GET a bonus.  Then a second spin on the RNG decides the outcome of the bonus.  How does the RNG affect the outcome of the bonus payout?  (Sorry for the long question.)
