Question of the Day - 13 August 2020

Q:

Will fans be able to tour Allegiant Stadium, now that we're not allowed in to attend the games?

A:

In July, Las Vegas Raiders' owner Mark Davis hinted strongly that it would be the case; earlier this month, it became official: No Raiders fans will be allowed to attend the team's home games throughout the 2020-2021 season.

However, almost simultaneously, it was announced that tours "will be made available." A sign-up form on the website (allegiantstadium.com/tours) requires your first name and email address (last name and phone number optional) and offers an FAQ, with the following information: Tours will start in the fall; they'll go to the Al Davis Memorial Torch, the broadcast booth, private suites and clubs, Raiders and Raiderettes locker rooms, press-conference room, and the field, among other places depending on what's going on in the stadium that day.

There's no further information (cost, days and hours, etc.), but it looks like tours will consist of 25 people. Tours at comparable new stadiums are in the $20-$25 range.

If you're interested, definitely put your name on the list. We've done so and will keep you posted, via Vegas News, when we learn more.

    25 People?
In light of Covid-19 masking and social distancing a group of 5-10 people seems more appropriate to me. Many of the tour destinations except the field would be a little cramped for 25 people.

Why not put a virtual tour online?
They should put a video online doing a virtual tour of the entire place. One of those nice 360 degree camera tours like they do for real estate and other places. That way more people could see it easier and not have any worry about the virus. Those that want to see it in person could still take the in-person tour if they want to. There's a lot of interest since it is new. A big part of it was paid for by the public with the extra hotel tax that got added. (not sure if locals had to pay anything for the construction, maybe just out of towners). And they should put a few large screen displays in the parking lot on gamedays showing the game and let people tailgate party, parking their vehicles 10 ft apart. Keep the fans happy. It's been hard this year for sports fans, team ownership should do what they can to keep the interest and satisfy fan desire.

    Virtual 360° tour
I agree. Do a virtual tour.

I’ve gone to places and put places on my list after Doing virtual tours. Sometimes even after discovering them while fooling around with google maps.

    Agree!
I’m in agreement with the idea of both options should be available. I would commit to doing both, especially if the real visit is at a reasonable price.

    Virtual Tours
I think the Neon Museum offers a virtual tour for $10. Would be interesting to know how popular it is.
