Do you guys know how to get into the debate? Buy tickets, scalp, volunteer to work? Any ideas or suggestions?

I seem to remember years ago that picture-taking was not allowed in casinos. I also recall that the MGM Grand was exempt from this policy/law due its designation as a movie studio. Obviously, this is no longer the case, as everyone now snaps pictures in the casino, and I was wondering when this changed. Was this a NGC law or corporate policy?

In regard to your remark (in QoD 9/28/2016 concerning Las Vegas high-crime areas) about places to avoid: "Paradise Road and Maryland Parkway, north of Flamingo Road." I don't see where these interconnect. Are you saying to avoid all the area between Paradise and Maryland Parkway north of Flamingo, seems like a large area for a drug alley. Should one even avoid the shopping areas on Maryland?

Reading your fantastic reports on recent crime statistics, I didn't see the DUI numbers listed. Considering Uber and Lyft have been here a year now serving both tourists and us locals off the strip, it would be awesome to see a year over year decline in drunk driving justifying the future of this convenient and affordable alternative to the taxi cartels ... I mean taxis.

I recently moved to Las Vegas and am still in the process of going through boxes. In one of them, I found a 2015 Wall Street Journal article about Project Jackpot, an 18-acre site on the Strip with a Walgreens and Travelodge, but evidently ripe for development. Whatever happened to the site?

We always stay either on the Strip or at a locals casino, but have never stayed downtown. However, we always spend an evening or two downtown to see the Fremont Street Experience, the Mob Museum, etc., and gamble for a while. Last year some of the so-called street performers were so filthy in their dress, mannerisms, language, and more that we have decided to write off downtown unless this scum is either banned or forced to clean up their act. We spoke to a police officer about one particularly disgusting guy and were told that at that time they were protected by some ridiculous and obviously outdated law that had not yet been repealed. Are they still there or has Fremont Street been cleaned up in the last year or so?

An article in the business section of the R-J on Saturday, October 1, about the grand opening of the American headquarters of the Australian slot manufacturing company Ainsworth, called its founder Len Ainsworth "the father of video poker." I was under the impression that that title belonged to Si Redd of IGT. Please explain the discrepancy.

I fly to Vegas and don't rent a car. The great transportation section on your website helps me get wherever I want to go very inexpensively (free shuttles, Monorail, etc.). Is there any easy, and maybe inexpensive, way to get to the recently opened Cracker Barrel located at 8350 Dean Martin Drive? I assume there aren't any closer. Their chicken and dumplings are yummy!

With the likely demise of Hotel32, is there anything closely comparable elsewhere? Am discounting the larger operations such as Delano, Four Seasons, Nobu; I like the idea of the smaller boutique hotel within a hotel.

How do you get a book published by Huntington Press? Does someone approach the person or do people bring manuscripts to you? Is it mostly well-known people in the gambling world or can a regular person bring a book to you? With that in mind, if you can and are willing to answer, what is the average profit for books and what was best money maker of all time for Huntington?
