Question: During one of these "makeovers" has anything of great value or interest been found on the property: I do recall an old newspaper being found during the IP/Quad conversion, but wonder about the other construction that has occurred and is occurring?

You just listed the smaller stand-alone casinos in the area. How are these small concerns doing financially; are they making money for the owners? Can you list the top ten money makers from the list over the past year or two? And what about the Dotty's "chain"? Where do they fit?

Do you have any idea why cell-phone service is so bad in hotel/casinos unless you're outside the buildings? Last week when I was in Las Vegas I -- and guests staying at different hotel/casinos -- had the same problem. Are the hotel/casinos trying to suppress service because of possible cheating?

What is your take on the Cosmo's "black hole" of a casino (as David McKee refers to it)? Do they simply know nothing about gamblers and running a casino? Are the bankers who own it too risk averse and took the "gamble" out of the table rules and pay tables? One would think a nice property like the Cosmo would be able to attract a fair share of high rollers.

We were at the grand opening of Jokers Wild, but it seemed to close just as quickly. What happened? We heard there were under the table deals that delayed it. Now it's part of Boyd, but I think it went through other owners. How did Boyd get it and what price did they have to pay to get it?

We hear so much a about these cool "day club" pools. Are there any pools that more or less cater to the "Over-30" crowd? Looking for a spot that's a lot of fun, but where we won't feel like creepy old people?

When considering a Vegas trip I'm usually pretty flexible on dates to get good room deals. Is there some easy way to research time periods when the whole town is going to be heavily booked and room deals nonexistent, due to major conventions or events?

I know you're not meant to give casino chips as tip, but is it OK to give leftover ticket-in/ticket-out slips as tips to maids, valets, cocktail waitresses, etc., as long as they're for an appropriate amount?
