There are lots of beautiful swimming pools at the casinos in Las Vegas, but can you tell us if any have pools that are open for use by locals? Also, are there changing facilities and/or towels available and are there any charges for using the facilities?

We were in Las Vegas last month. Our tour guide mentioned that plans are in the works to build the world's largest Ferris wheel and the largest water park in North America. Do you have info on this?

I was just told they are installing tollbooths on the Strip. What is going on? I am a local. I only go down there when friends or family come in and to one casino. We have to pay to go on the Strip?

What’s the story on Key Largo casino? We saw some kind of covert operations happening there with S.W.A.T. teams a couple of weekends ago. Is this just a training site now? Seems dangerous.

My husband and I were driving along on US 50 through central Nevada last week, minding our own business, when we passed a tree out in the middle of nowhere that was filled with pairs of shoes! As a faithful follower of Question of Day, I know you answer questions about greater Nevada, so I thought you maybe could tell us what the shoe tree is all about.

In your 4-26-10 QOD...you made the claim, "As for roller coasters, the Canyon Blaster in the Adventuredome at Circus Circus is the largest indoor roller coaster in the world." I have seen it and I can't believe it's larger than the Rock-n-Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios (Disney World) or even Space Mountain for that matter. What would be the track length of the three?

In February we were in Las Vegas and took a bus trip to Laughlin. Our bus driver/tour guide told us that the City of Las Vegas does not get its major supply of water from Lake Mead, but it gets it from an underground river which flows under the City. He also said that the reason Bally's Hotel and Casino is set back from the Street is because, otherwise, it would be sitting on top of the River. Is he correct?

With the current economy, it looks more and more like Echelon Place will NEVER be completed. How long do the building permits last and, if they expire, can the city demand the finished portion to be torn down? It only seems logical that all permits would have some kind of "reasonable progress to completion" clause that would require some movement by the builders. The north end of the Strip is looking more and more like a trash heap.
