If you're only in Vegas for a short time with your partner (less than a week), and you're not a regular visitor, what's the best way to maximize value from a slot club for that trip? Should you sign up for a joint account and hope to rack up enough play between you for some cashback or comps on that one trip? Or is it better to play on individual cards?

On the May 25, 2006 "Be in Action Radio Show" Jean Scott talks about losing $40,000 playing video poker but after including $80,000 worth of extra promotions, including bounce-back cash, they had a $40,000 gain for the year. What is bounce-back cash, how is it calculated, and how is it distributed?

Poker and Comps, Part Two

I've started to play poker in some of the poker rooms around town. Nothing big, just low limit. I have two questions. Can I get comps for playing a $2-$4 or a $4-$8 game? And what kind of comps do the big players, like in the thousands and no-limit, get?

All these casino mergers –- how are they affecting the slot clubs at each property? Can you earn points at one property and then redeem them for comps at another one? Do all the casinos in one merged company have the same comp policies and benefits?

What drinks are considered off-limits while playing at the casino? Can I order a frozen drink? What about mix drinks? Do I have to stick just to beer, water, coffee, and soft drinks? Does it depend on what game I'm playing or at what level? Do casinos have a list of drinks that they'll serve you? If so, where is the list available?

I may be taking people to dinner on my comps and I am not sure how to tip. What is the tipping policy for this situation?

Is any casino associated with a major credit card that earns points toward comps?

I've noticed that just joining the slot club will get me on the casino mailing list for offers. Will getting a line of credit get me more/better offers, even if I use it rarely or not at all?
