Are you aware of any upcoming Las Vegas appearances by any of the Food Network celebrity chefs? I've heard that they occasionally appear at local restaurants/resorts and offer interactive lunch/dinner sessions which are prepared by the chefs.

I am going to be in Las Vegas for a week in late April on business. While my days and lunches will be filled with business and business meetings, my dinners are open. I am a huge fan of out-of-the way, unique places to eat (any type of food is OK); do you have a list where I can find some new places, preferably off the Strip, i.e., where the locals go? Thanks.

I was speaking with a high-limit dealer from Cosmopolitan today and he said the cocktail waitresses have to pay 25¢ for each drink poured at the bar. I don’t know how accurate this information is, or whether it includes non-alcoholic drinks. Does this sound right to you? If it is true, do the patrons who stiff the waitresses cost them that much in the long run, or do they typically get enough to make up for it?
