In the recent Q&A about why there's no gambling in Boulder City, you said that there's another Nevada town -- Panaca?? -- with a gambling ban, but for totally different reasons. So, where is Panaca and why is there no gambling there?

When preparing for our last Vegas trip I removed all the fifties in our bankroll and replaced them with hundreds or twenties. My husband questioned why. I heard $50s are considered bad luck in a casino and they will never pay you off with a $50. He didn't believe me. If true, how did this superstition start?

I recently saw on "Pawn Stars" the D casino was selling their Sigma Derby game (my all-time favorite machine -- I used to stay up all night at the Stardust back in the '80s playing it). On the show, Rick's expert appraised it for $35,000 to $40,000, so did they make a deal or not? And if it's gone from the D, are there any other casinos in Las Vegas that still have a Sigma Derby machine?

What ever happened regarding the federal proposal that winnings be reported to the IRS (and that W-2Gs be given to the gambler) for changes to the amount won from slots and keno? I realize that the threshold hadn't been increased since 1977, and I'm sure that both gamblers and casinos were incensed at the proposal. If something new has been implemented, what is it?
